American Influencer Surprises Bali Donut Vendor With House and $10,000
American influencer Isaiah Garza surprised a Balinese donut vendor with a house and US$10,000 after she once offered him free donuts. The emotional moment has inspired thousands online.
A Balinese street vendor who sells donuts to support her family was brought to tears after an American influencer gifted her a brand new house and US$10,000. The heartwarming moment, shared on TikTok, has captured attention across Bali and the wider Indonesian internet.
Isaiah Garza, a US fashion designer and content creator with 8.7 million TikTok followers, posted the video last week. In it, he recalled meeting Ni Luh Sri Wulandari several months earlier near her humble donut stall. At the time, Garza approached her pretending to have no money and asked for a donut.
Ni Luh, who was selling donuts to cover the cost of her parents' funeral and care for her ailing grandfather, immediately offered him three for free. Touched by her generosity, Garza insisted on paying and handed her US$500. She reportedly tried to refuse, telling him that people should simply help one another.
Her kindness left a lasting impression. Garza decided to return with a Christmas surprise, raising funds before purchasing a home for Ni Luh and giving her an additional US$10,000 to help her settle in comfortably.
When Ni Luh first saw the house, she broke down in tears, repeatedly thanking Garza. She shared that owning a home had long been a dream of hers, and that the gift had made that dream a reality. "I am so grateful," she said. "Isaiah is a true angel."
The video quickly spread across social media, drawing an outpouring of emotional responses. "Why am I crying?" one viewer wrote, while another commented, "Isaiah you are a light, thank you for doing this for people."
Not everyone reacted with pure praise. Some questioned the motives behind such public displays of charity, with one user asking whether local authorities felt any shame seeing the situation. Others suggested influencers may benefit from showcasing acts of generosity for online clout.
Whatever the intentions, Garza has repeatedly used his platform to raise money and assist people facing hardship around the world. For Ni Luh and others he has helped, the gesture has clearly meant everything, especially after feeling overlooked for so long.
